The final Repair Cafe for 2019 will be Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Holmes County District Public Library in Millersburg from 1-4 p.m.

At previous events participants repaired a lamp, an antique chair, Christmas lights, an AM/FM radio and a DVD/VCR. Other things that came up for repair were a headboard, a bed and a cane.

Individuals who can repair items like wood, electronics, bicycles and computers and those who can sew are encouraged to attend. A volunteer to act as a receptionist to get people’s information is needed.

“The Repair Café concept is taking off,” said Mark Tillack, who coordinates the events. “I’ve gotten contacted by folks in Columbus and other areas who are interested in starting one there locally. Recently I heard that Cincinnati just got a Repair Café going too.”

Tillack also was contacted by an individual in the Catskills area of New York who wrote to say she and her partner in Repair Cafes are writing a book about the experience.

Call Tillack at 330-377-4387 to get more information or to volunteer.

The Holmes County District Public Library is located at 3102 Glen Drive in Millersburg.
