Holmes Center for the Arts will offer art classes for teens and adults as buy one, get one free. Be sure to list the name of your free guest in the comment section on the registration page and sign up soon as many classes have a size limit. Introduction to quilting with Tootie Hershberger will be Mondays, Feb. 19 and 26 and March 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 6-7 p.m. on Feb. 19 and 6-7:30 p.m. on the remaining dates for $75. The class for teen/adult beginning or intermediate quilters will be tailored to individual interests and will cover using a simple pattern, hand and machine stitching, and creating a small, finished quilt such as a table runner or a lap quilt. Students will be responsible for providing their own supplies. A list of needed materials will be discussed during the first class.

Watercolor and ink with Michelle Steffen will be Tuesdays, Feb. 20 and 27 and March 5 from 5:15-6:45 p.m. for $55. The class for teens/adults is limited to eight students. High-quality paper and painter tape will be included. Students will be responsible for bringing paints and an ink pen. Specifics will be provided by the instructor after students sign up. These three classes will focus on the combination of ink and watercolor and are for beginner or experienced artists.

Soft pastel landscape with Cathie Lynch for age 12 to adult will be Friday, Feb. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. for $25. Learn blending techniques with soft pastels to create a success-oriented landscape from a photo reference. Bring your own landscape reference or use one of HCA’s. Materials will be provided.

Handmade card workshop with Mary Gilmore for teens/adults will be Friday, Feb. 9 from 6-7:30 p.m. for $15. Using a variety of materials, craft a token of affection.

Weaving with Hershberger-Leinbach for teens/adults (younger children can come with an adult) will be Friday, Feb. 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. for $20. Make a small, hand-woven wall hanging or coaster, focusing on tapestry technique, color and texture.

St. Brigid’s Cross with Gilmore for teens/adults will be Friday, March 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. for $15. Brigid’s Cross is a woven cross traditionally made in Ireland to mark the beginning of spring. Come explore this Irish tradition.

Acrylic pour and sip nights with Karen Drongowski for teens/adults will be March 15, April 19 and May 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. for $25 per class. This painting technique provides an atmosphere to relax, let the paint flow and enjoy the experience.
