Christian Aid Ministries has made it well known the organization is ready and willing to go to the ends of the earth to make an impact globally.

While the Berlin-based organization may only be traveling to Mt. Hope for its upcoming open house Feb. 22-23 at the Mt. Hope Auction Arena, the event will have the capability of impacting many people around the world.

“Many people know that we provide both physical and spiritual aid around the world, but they don’t really know the whole story,” said Weston Showalter, public relations manager for CAM. “This is an opportunity for our support base, which is primarily the Amish and Mennonite people, plus some others, to get a good feel of how exactly their support is making an impact all over the world. It is also a good chance for people to bring their children and expose them to the needs in other parts of the world, how people live and how their lives are very uniquely different from ours in many ways.”

The Friday, Feb. 22 session will begin at 5 p.m. when the bookstore and exhibit area open. At 6:30 p.m. the Walhounding-based singing group, Pillar of Truth, will perform, and from 7-8:45 p.m. there will be a slide show presentation about the various CAM programs and a children’s story time by Johnny Miller.

The Saturday lineup will begin at 1 p.m. with the reopening of the bookstore and exhibit area. At 2 p.m. there will be a time of singing and devotions, followed by a series of topic presentations focusing on a number of different CAM projects where patrons can get a closer look at CAM’s most vulnerable aid recipients and unique opportunities to present God’s word being the highlights.

The day will feature a lineup of featured speakers who will share of the many ways CAM is impacting people’s lives across the globe.

At 2:25 p.m. David Troyer will share “Unusual Opportunities to Provide God’s Word,” followed by Gary Miller’s presentation of “SALT Microfinance Solutions” at 2:35 p.m.

“The Disaster Response Services Family” by Paul Weaver and “Biblical Stewardship Services — Who We Are and What We Offer” by Steve Yoder are slated for 2:45 and 2:55 p.m., respectively. At 3:05 p.m. David Troyer will present “Comments from a General Director” while at 3:15 p.m. Gary Miller will return to present “Life in Global Village.”

Philip Troyer will share about “Yemen Conflict and other International Crisis Projects” at 3:35 p.m., followed by Jon Stoltzfus presenting “Our Most Vulnerable Aid Recipients” at 3:45 p.m. At 4 p.m. Johnny Miller will present “Billboard Evangelism,” followed by Luke Miller, who will wrap up the presentations at 4:15 p.m. with an update on “Loaves & Fishes Food Kitchen.”

“We have some great speakers, and the exhibit area is going to be really neat,” Showalter said. “It will feature a replica of an Iraqi refugee camp in which people can go inside of it and get some feel of how life must be like for refugees. Another exhibit will be a Haitian store and some other unique opportunities to get a better sense of what some of these other countries are like on a daily basis.”

Loaves & Fishes Food Kitchen will provide a meal at 4:30 p.m., and another slide show will be presented from 6:15-8:05 p.m. that will feature CAM programs as well as another children’s story time with Johnny Miller.

The bookstore area will feature several of the speaker’s books with some new CAM book titles that are available for purchase including “The Debt I Owe” by Johnny Miller, “Prejudice and Pardon” by Laura Smucker, “Stronger Than Fire” by Mark Yoder and others.
