On Saturday, April 10, regularly scheduled times for dropping off books for the annual AAUW/Kiwanis used book sale resumed.

The drop-off center will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The entrance to the drop-off center is located on the side alley on Thomen Court (behind 214 N. Bever St. in Wooster). Book donors are reminded to stay in their cars and allow volunteers to remove donations. Large drop-offs such as moving or estate clearances can be made by appointment. Call 330-439-2093 to arrange a time to drop off large donations of books.

This year will be the 64th annual used book sale co-sponsored by the American Association of University Women and the Kiwanis Club of Wooster. The sale will open on Wednesday, Sept. 29 and close on Saturday, Oct. 2 in Buss Hall at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Friday is half-off day, and Saturday is $5 per shopping bag day.

All proceeds go to AAUW’s fund to provide scholarships to women whose education has been interrupted and to Kiwanis for use in its many projects to benefit Wooster youth.

“We are excited to return to normal operations preparing for the annual sale,” said Walt Kearney, co-chair of the 2021 sale. “We deeply appreciate the continuous support of the community for our sale over the past 64 years and the support of our many volunteers from both clubs who contribute so much toward making this sale one of the largest in Ohio.”
