Applications open for new downtown Wooster program
The next application deadline for the new Downtown Wooster Commercial Renovation Program is July 19.
Applications are now being accepted for the new Downtown Wooster Commercial Renovation Program. This is an expansion of the Facade Grant Program to help fund improvements to the entire commercial or mixed-use property (interior, exterior and grounds). To qualify, the property must be located in the C-4 Central Business District.
The City of Wooster has allocated $25,000 toward these renovation grants and has partnered with Main Street Wooster to provide funding and management of the program. Through the program Main Street Wooster reimburses the business enterprise for up to 30% of the cost of the renovation. The maximum amount of the grant shall not exceed $5,000 unless approved by the City of Wooster director of administration based on a finding that the project will have a significant impact on the downtown area.
Grant applications will be reviewed and awarded monthly for as long as funding remains. The next application deadline is July 19.
