Austin joins Wooster school board
Wooster City Schools welcomed a new Board of Education member this month. Cody Austin was officially inducted at the Wooster City School District Board of Education meeting on June 18. Austin will fill a vacancy left by Danielle Schantz, who left because she was appointed a magistrate in Summit County.
“We are excited to welcome our newest board member and look forward to continuing our work for Wooster City Schools,“ said board president Jody Starcher. “Mr. Austin is an active Wooster resident and we are glad to see him rejoin the board.”
Austin lives in Wooster with his wife and two sons. He works as a Financial Planner with Austin Wealth Solutions. He graduated with his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Akron, then went on to earn his MBA in Organizational Change, also at Akron. Austin has been a board member for the YMCA of Wayne County and multiple City of Wooster committees. He previously served on the Wooster City Schools Board of Education and will serve with the Board until his term concludes in Dec. 2025.
“Mr. Austin is committed to our schools, and we are thankful to have him serve on the Board again,” said Superintendent Gabe Tudor. “I look forward to working with him throughout his term.”
