Rhiannon Whalen-Harris, the community education and outreach coordinator for OneEighty, will present a workshop on bystander training on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Wooster.

The training is designed to help prepare community members to assist and/or be a supportive resource if they witness an individual or group being targeted. Sometimes it’s easier just to look away. Knowing what to do at the time is often difficult, and there may be little opportunity to think things through.

At the heart of the training is the opportunity to discuss and practice possible responses with others in advance. The practice can lead to greater confidence in deciding how to speak up or intervene on someone else’s behalf.

The training is free and open to all. St. James Episcopal Church is located at 201 N. Market St. at the corner of North and Market in downtown Wooster. Enter through the doors on North Street. Light refreshments will be provided.
