The Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s Main Library will host two programs about Cleveland sports teams with special guests.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m., Cleveland Plain Dealer sports writer Terry Pluto and Dover native and National Public Radio’s Morning Edition anchor Amanda Rabinowitz will be at the Main Library to discuss all things Ohio sports.

Pluto and Rabinowitz host a weekly segment titled “The View from Pluto” on WKSU where they discuss the Browns, Cavs and Indians, as well as college sports.

“Northeastern Ohio is big on sports,” library director Michelle McMorrow Ramsell said. “This program is a great opportunity for sports fans in our county to hear from people just as passionate about Cleveland sports as we are.”

Pluto and Rabinowitz will host an in-person discussion about the state of Cleveland sports. A book-signing will follow the event.

On Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m., the library will get a special visit from Cleveland Indians radio play-by-play announcer Jim Rosenhaus.

“If you listen to Indians baseball games on the radio, you’re going to recognize his voice,” said library public service associate Jeff Bray, who planned the program. “Mr. Rosenhaus also hosts Indians Warm Up and Tribe Talk on WTAM radio.”

According to Bray, Rosenhaus will discuss the Tribe’s off-season moves and the upcoming season, tell stories, and take question from the audience.

To register for these free programs, visit the library’s online registration calendar at www.tusclibrary.org or call 330-364-4474.

The Main Library is located at 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia.
