Dover Public Library will host its annual Touch a Truck event on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids and their families can come to the library and have a day of trucks, goody bags and free lunch.

“Each year we try to add more fun and more trucks to our event,” children’s department manager Jen Gardner said. “This year’s event will include over a dozen vehicles that kids can climb on and check out.”

The lineup includes bucket trucks, cement mixers, tow trucks, fire trucks, police cruisers, backhoes, street sweepers, dump trucks, the library car and more. There also will be an appearance by The Bee, who stands over 7 feet tall and loves to dance.

“Our Friends of the Library are always so generous and offer free hot dogs and chips,” Gardner said. “The Dover Exchange Club will also give away free drinks, and the library will give goody bags to children attending.”

Call the library at 330-343-6123 or visit www.doverlibrary.org.

The Dover Public Library is located at 525 N. Walnut St. in Dover.
