The Tuscarawas County Engineer’s Department reminds drivers to slow down during and after snow and ice storms.

The department’s goal is to get county roads to the condition so that the average driver, when using due caution, can travel roads safely. Reduced speeds may be necessary.

Due to budget limitations, county roads will not necessarily be in a condition where drivers can safely drive 55 mph after storms. The department does not have a “black roads” policy. The resources to get roads completely clear and dry in every storm event are not available. All attempts to get roads open so they can be safely traveled with caution will be utilized.

The department can be called at 330-339-6648 during office hours or via the sheriff’s office after hours.
