Fitness instructor recognized for her work
The Tuscarawas County YMCA announced Chris Sulzener has been named the LaBlast Instructor of the Year. This recognition celebrates her dedication, energy and contribution to the LaBlast fitness program.
Sulzener, who leads LaBlast classes at the Tuscarawas County YMCA every Monday at 9 a.m., was selected for this honor last week.
LaBlast, a partner-free dance fitness program founded by dancer Louis van Amstel, combines dancing with fitness.
“I am so grateful to teach the format that Louis van Amstel created. He is very connected with his instructors, and to know he is just a text away speaks volumes to me. The learning and growing is continual. I am blessed with great classes and very thankful for the support of LaBlast, YMCA staff and each participant in my class,” Sulzener said.
“We are incredibly proud of Chris and her outstanding achievements,” said Ryan Hursey, health and wellness director of Tuscarawas County YMCA. “Her enthusiasm and dedication are truly inspiring, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and impact on our community.”
LaBlast classes are free for YMCA members. A drop-in rate of $10 is available for nonmembers.
