The Tuscora Park Foundation will hold its fourth drive-thru chicken barbecue on the tennis side courts at Tuscora Park on Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The dinner will include one-half chicken, coleslaw, applesauce, a roll, a cookie and water. The cost is $15. Dave Frantz will prepare the chicken.

Children visiting Tuscora Park will soon be able to play on new playground equipment to replace equipment located on the east side of the park pond.

“The playground is inclusive for children. There will be zip lines for children and many other features,” said Jan McInturf, a member of the Tuscora Park Foundation.

The project cost is about $500,000, and the foundation has raised about $280,000.

“Other projects that have been accomplished by fundraising and grants are the pickleball courts, dog park, walking path, kids books on pedestals for them to read while walking and soccer fields located on the south side of the city,” McInturf said.

Michael Ernest is president of the Tuscora Park Foundation. Others serving on the board include McInturf, Rod Miller, Tom Farbizo, Joel Day, Paul McEwan, Jim Range, Darrin Lautenschleger and Donald Kemp.

Tuscora Park is located at 161 Tuscora Ave. NW in New Philadelphia.
