Historic Zoar Village and Fort Laurens will offer programming and tours for visitors for July.

The ghosts of Zoar return early for the 2020 season with Ghost Tours being offered July 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. Tour Historic Zoar Village by lantern light as you hear the haunted tales of Zoar. Usually reserved for the Halloween season, Ghost Tours of Zoar are coming back early this season.

Join your guide on a haunted adventure of Zoar, hearing ghost stories of the past and the creepy experiences of the tour guides themselves. Tickets are presale only, and tours are limited to 10 people. Reservations can be made by visiting www.historiczoarvillage.eventbrite.com or by calling 330-874-3011.

History Camp returns July 15-17. This year History Camp will be held virtually. Each day will transport students to another time in history. Virtual content will be provided live to participate together. Virtual content will include costumed interpreters, tours and instructions on activities. If you can’t participate live, a link will be provided to have your hands-on history later.

All supplies, worksheets, snacks and activities will be provided to each student in a to-go box organized by day. Boxes can be picked up in Zoar, or arrangements can be made on an as-needed basis. Students can then unbox their historical fun early or for each day of camp.

July 15 will be Zoar History Day, looking at life in the 1830s. July 16 will be Zoar in the Civil War, exploring the history of the Civil War and its role in Zoar. July 17 will take students back to the American Revolution with Fort Laurens Day.

Virtual activities will take place live from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $10 per day or $25 for all three days. Reservations can be made by visiting www.historiczoarvillage.eventbrite.com or by calling 330-874-3011.
