Learn about the life of Frieda Warther
Presenting on behalf of the Ernest Warther Museum & Gardens, Jennie Arbogast will talk about the life of Frieda Warther, the wife of the master carver, Thursday, Feb. 20 at 12:15 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center in Dover.
Frieda Warther was an artist in her own right. She not only collected buttons, but also maintained the gardens at their home. She welcomed thousands of people into her home as she taught classes out of her dining room on flower arranging, wreath-making and card-making. Founder of the Dover Garden Club, she helped many people.
Arbogast has been a tour guide at the museum for almost a decade. She has immersed herself in all things Warther and has assisted with cataloging and sorting archives. Over the years she has become an expert on the life of Frieda Warther, her buttons and gardening. Beyond the museum, she is an educator and currently assists with the choirs in the schools.
This program is part of the Lunch and Learn series sponsored by the Dover Public Library on the third Thursday of every month. All programs of this series will be held at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, 425 Prospect St., Dover.
