Marching Tornadoes to host 48th annual Dover Band Preview

The Dover Marching Tornadoes will host seven bands, as well as perform “Peace, Love and LOUD: a Tribute to Woodstock.”

                        

The Dover Marching Tornadoes will host the 48th annual Dover Band Preview on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Crater Stadium, 803 E. Seventh St., Dover. The show will begin at 7 p.m. with the traditional Parade of Bands.

The Dover Marching Tornadoes will host seven bands that evening, as well as perform “Peace, Love and LOUD: a Tribute to Woodstock.” The show will include such songs as “Feelin’ Alright,” “Evil Ways,” “Take You Higher/Dance to the Music” and the Jefferson Airplane version of “Somebody to Love.”

The Band Preview will conclude with a performance from special guest, the “Ohio’s Pride” University of Akron Marching Band. Akron will feature its 2019 pregame show, as well as two selections from its video games show.

Other bands performing are the Conotton Valley Marching Rockets, the Garaway Marching Pirates, the Canton South Wildcat Marching Band, the Newcomerstown High School Marching Band, the Steubenville High School Big Red Band and the Canton McKinley High School Marching Band.

Tickets to the 48th annual Dover Band Preview are $7 at the gate. Senior citizens and children under 5 are free. Parking for this event is free, and concessions will be available. More information is available on the Dover Band website at www.marchingtornadoes.com.
