Millersburg Village Council met Monday, Feb. 10.

Several items were discussed during the meeting:

—The Design Review Board will meet March 5.

—The Volunteer Police Officer Dependent Fund Committee will meet in council chambers on March 10 at 6:45 p.m.

—Girls’ Night Out will be Feb. 22.

—The village is working on obtaining pricing for the street department F550 and the assistant administrator vehicle.

—Taylor Sigler with HDM developed a board for the upcoming DORA application and presentation to council. The map days/times were discussed. She hopes to bring that to council in March.

—The village will meet with OMEGA to discuss a possible grant application for funding the Wooster Road waterline project. The village is still waiting to hear if it will receive any funding through Rep. Troy Balderson.

—The village is watching a Durapatcher that is being auctioned off by Hancock County on govdeals. The sale ends soon, and Hardy Township and the village will share the cost if it goes for less than their limit of $20,000.

—Village Administrator Nate Troyer, Fiscal Officer Bobbie Curry, and Planning and Zoning Assistant Administrator Chad Cline met with the village’s insurance company to discuss the village’s upcoming insurance renewal. A few things needed to be removed for safety, such as the old metal swings at Clay Street Park.

—Millersburg Elementary will have a coloring contest in March. Students will color a picture of the Victorian House, as chosen by council. Mayor Kelly Hoffee and a few council members will be the judges. The kids who place first, second and third in each grade will have their artwork turned into banners for the downtown.

—The village is advertising for a part-time assistant to help its fiscal officer.

—The village thanked the Lions Club for this year’s Christmas decorations.

—Village Solicitor Bob Hines discussed dealing with vacant trailers and steps moving forward.

—Pathmaster had two representatives come to council to discuss traffic downtown. They discussed their Centracs System with hosting service. This would allow, with the addition of cameras, the three lights downtown to essentially talk to each other, so if it noticed traffic getting backed up east on Jackson Street, it would leave the lights green longer to clear out that traffic. They have a camera and computer system they could install for 60 days, which would give the village accurate counts at the intersection in which it is installed. This system would then be able to tell the village the most accurate and efficient way to get traffic flowing through Millersburg. They said until they get communication between intersections, traffic will not get any better. They will set up the camera and computer to get some data from the square.

The next council meeting is scheduled for Feb. 24.
