Pomerene Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus have joined hands in a collaborative partnership that allows pediatric and neonatal patients at Pomerene to connect with the expertise and resources offered by pediatric specialists at Nationwide Children’s.

Through this collaboration the community will have increased access to quality care, and Nationwide Children’s will provide training and education to the staff at Pomerene to better serve the community’s pediatric health-care needs.

“We are extremely pleased and excited to be affiliated with Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” said Fran Lauriha, CNO of Pomerene Hospital. “We believe the wide range of resources and services that will now be offered to the Holmes County community will provide care that keeps patient-families close to home. We are looking forward to working together to provide the highest level of care to our patients.”

“We are proud to partner with Pomerene Hospital to provide the community with continued access to quality pediatric health care,” said Martin Hanawalt, MD, medical director of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Regional Hospitalist Program at OhioHealth Mansfield. “Working alongside the physicians and staff at Pomerene, our team will help evaluate the best possible care path for neonatal and pediatric patients with the goal of keeping children close to home and helping them reach their optimal health.”
