Patrol investigating motorcycle crash in Salt Creek Township

                        
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle vs. car accident that occurred Sunday in Salt Creek Township. Transported via medical helicopter to Akron General Hospital from the accident scene were Michael Pauly, 50, and Tracy Dukes, 50, with life-threatening injuries, according to the Ohio State Patrol, Wooster Post, reports. A spokesperson with Akron General said Monday morning that Dukes was in serious condition in the intensive care unit, but Akron General did not have information on Pauly. The patrol has not received further information about the two patients since Sunday night when they were reported in serious condition, according to dispatch reports. The accident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Patrol reports indicate that Pauly was operating a motorcycle southbound on state Route 241 with Dukes riding as passenger. Dillon Friend, 20, was driving a motor vehicle northbound on state Route 241 and “failed to yield to the motorcycle,” post reports state. Friend made a left hand turn onto County Road 201 and was struck by the motorcycle. The motorcycle overturned on its side. Pauly and Dukes were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, the patrol reports. The crash remains under investigation.
