Free wood from dead trees downed near Orrville by volunteers for Rails-to-Trails of Wayne County is available to anyone who would like to cut and haul it.

Over several days Rails-to-Trails of Wayne County volunteers removed over two-dozen dead trees in the Orrville area to make the trail safer for all.

Working with their own gear, volunteers cut and put on the ground all dead trees that could be done safely. A few dead trees remain that will require professional removal.

Anyone who would like to cut and haul the wood can email Rails-to-Trails of Wayne County for instructions on how to properly access the trail and to sign a release for the City of Orrville. Email waynerailstotrails@gmail.com with the subject header, Cutting and Hauling Wood.

The crew leader for this project was board member Keith Workman. Others who also gave their time and used their own equipment were board member John Stevic, Bill Hoover and a few of their family members.
