The Reed Records Management shredding truck will come to the Dalton Library twice in October to accept filled shred bags purchased through Dalton Friends of the Library.

Onsite shredding will take place Thursday, Oct. 18 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Seal N’ Shred Bags come in two sizes. The large bag for $10 can hold up to 75 pounds of paper (about 15 gallons or two to three banker boxes of paper) while the small bag for $6 has a capacity of 40-50 pounds (about 10 gallons or one to 1.5 banker boxes of paper). Bags are now on sale at the Dalton Library and can be purchased in advance or at the times the shred truck is onsite.

The bags can be filled with no-longer-needed confidential documents such as applications, invoices and bank statements. When a bag is full, the user seals it and takes it to the shred truck at the Dalton Library on one of the designated dates.

At the shred day a Reed employee will take custody of each sealed bag and load it into the mobile shredding truck.

Filled, prepaid bags also may be taken to the Reed facility at 2730 Akron Road in Wooster from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays or by calling 330-601-0717 to make an appointment for drop off.

Shred days are sponsored each spring and fall by Dalton Friends of the Library to raise money for special library projects. Further information is available at the Dalton Library, 127 S. Church St., Dalton, or by calling the library at 330-828-8486.
