United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties reported they are at 62 percent of their goal with a little less than a month to go to meet the total goal of $1.3 million by Dec. 31.

United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties is working around the clock to get donations in the door from both Wayne and Holmes workplaces and individual donors.

“We are rallying hard and are confident in our 2018 campaign,” said Katie Koglman, executive director of the United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties. “We are leaving no opportunity unturned or unasked for that matter. Our team is excited to continue the momentum through this season of giving.”

United Way just came off of a successful #GivingTuesday, which is a global day of giving. It is the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

“Giving Tuesday was a day where many came together and gave to United Way, and we feel like that set the tone for the holiday giving season,” said Lisa Nyhart, the director of finance and operations at UWWHC. “We raised a grand total of $6,430. Many people like to come together and donate locally for causes they believe in. Giving Tuesday was a sentiment to the value they feel United Way has in our community.”

With the start of December comes many community-wide needs, and United Way is a local resource that is currently providing 29 area agencies with funds to support some of the most necessary programs in the communities they serve.
