Donald E. Litman

                        

Donald E. Litman, Sr., age 68 of Dover, died peacefully in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019.

Born in New Martinsville, West Virginia on Jan. 7, 1951, Don was the son of the late Everett Earl and Gladys Virginia (Butler) Litman.

After graduating from high school, Don married his wife, the former Lavina A. Strader, in Harmon Church of God in Beach City on Nov. 14, 1970. Together, they were members of Dover Bible Church.

Don worked most recently as a machinist at Ohio Cat in Bolivar. He was a very talented custom woodworker, creating beautiful jewelry boxes, model cars, lamps and many other items. He also enjoyed car restoration, cooking and sewing. He was a “jack of all traits” and loved dearly by his family.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his children, Donald (Vicki) Litman, Jr. of Akron and Chrystal (Mark) McCahill of Barnhill; his grandchildren, Jesse, Kaila, Kyle, Justin Litman and Colt Myers; his siblings, William (Betty) Litman of Bolivar, Sharon (Ben) Moore of Navarre, Barbara (Cleve) Diehl of Canton and James (Sheryl) Litman of Baltic; great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Ariel Litman, Victoria and Samantha Litman, and Aviana Litman; and his sisters-in-law, Shelvie Hostetler, Shirley Strader, Sheila Radabaugh, Stella Gubesch, LaFern (Joseph) Wisard, Helen (Paul) Price and Tabatha Eberly.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Harold W. and Eleanor L. Strader; and his great-grandson, Avory Litman.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from noon to 2 p.m. A service will begin at 2 p.m., followed by burial in Dover Burial Park.
