Floyd David McBeth

                        

Floyd David McBeth, age 96 of Bolivar, died in Hennis Care Centre in Dover on Jan. 21, 2019.

Born in Uhrichsville on Jan. 12, 1923, Floyd was the son of the late David W. and Lillie S. (Murray) McBeth.

Floyd was a 1942 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II in the European Theatre. He served in France, Germany, Austria and England with the 44th Division. He received his honorable discharge at Camp Fannin in Texas on Nov. 27, 1945. He has been a member of the American Legion Post #190 throughout his life.

After the service Floyd was a mechanic for Ford Garage in Uhrichsville until it closed. Then he had his own shop on West First Street in Uhrichsville. Finally he went to Flemings Trucking as a mechanic until his retirement.

On Aug. 31, 1997, Floyd married the love of his life, Mariam L. “Kitty” Eichel McBeth, who preceded him in death in 2018. They were married at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bolivar, where they were members.

Floyd is survived by his children, Kenny (Debbie) McBeth of Dennison and Natalie (Don) Lupi of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a beloved sister, Lillian Chek of New Philadelphia; his step-daughters, Rebecca (Connie Flogge) Eichel of Bolivar and Efy McDonnell of Canton; his step-grandson, Jake McDonnell; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Floyd was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara McRobie; his step-daughter, Cynthia Eichel; his brother, Roy McBeth; and his sisters, Janice McBeth and Doris Altergate.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 10-11 a.m. Pastor Mike Pozzuto will lead a service celebrating Floyd’s life beginning at 11 a.m. A private burial will take place in Ft. Laurens Cemetery.

Floyd’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staffs of Hennis Care Centre and Community Hospice for their exceptional care of Floyd.
