Helen Louise Gerber
Helen Louise Gerber, age 95 of Orrville, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at Orrville Pointe in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Helen was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Canton to the late LeRoy and Ella (Moser) Horst and graduated from Orrville High School in 1941. She married Olin Gerber on Oct. 21, 1962, in Orrville. Olin died on Sept. 11, 2003.
Helen worked as an accountant for Nuroy Roofing Company for 25 years.
Helen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a volunteer treasurer for 30 years. She enjoyed camping, boating, bird watching, fishing, embroidery, latch hooking, crocheting and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Surviving are son, Robby Gerber of Washington, DC; daughter, Tina (Mike) Warren of Aiken, South Carolina; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Charles "Gene" Horst of Moon Township, Pennsylvania; and two sisters-in-law, Rosie Emery of Norwalk and Lela Horst of Dalton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Don, Dick, Harry and Robert Horst.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1556 Rex Drive, Orrville, with Rev. Dr. David Rittgers officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, Jan. 11 at 10:45 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
