Jeff R. Goodwin

                        

Jeff R. Goodwin, age 50, died Saturday morning, Jan. 26, 2019, in his home of natural causes.

Born in Dover on Sept. 15, 1968, Jeff was the son of John J. and Janet (Stringer) Goodwin of Dover.

Jeff graduated from Dover High School in 1987, where he was active in the Marching Tornadoes as a drummer. He continued his formal education at Akron University.

Jeff continued his love for music and drumming as a member of local bands including the Rainbow Cruise, Ruff Kut and Renegade and enjoyed his time as a substitute drummer for the Corbi Jazz Band.

Jeff was the director of purchasing for Marketplace Distributors before its acquisition by the Albert Guanieri & Co., where he was a buyer.

In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his son, Jake Goodwin; his brother, Joe (Rene) Goodwin of Dover; his nephews, John Hemonetoes of Florida and Joel (Cortney) Goodwin of Dover; his niece, Sara Kenosky; his great-nephew and great-niece, Caden Goodwin and Katrina Kenosky; and his former wife and Jake’s mother, April Goodwin.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Goodwin and Joe and Helen Stringer, and his brother, John V. Goodwin in 2010.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 2-4 p.m. A memorial service will be led by Steve Jenkins beginning at 4 p.m. Private inurnment in Dover Burial Park will take place at a later date.
