Letitia “Tish” Auble Moore, age 79 of Dalton, died Aug. 31, 2018, at her residence, following a period of declining health.

Tish was born Oct. 7, 1938, in Lodi, the daughter of Hollis and Treva (McAfee) Auble. She was united in marriage to George E. “Gene” Moore on Aug. 2, 1972, in Macedonia, Ohio. He died Jan. 17, 2013.

Tish was a graduate of Orrville High School and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio State University. She was formerly a teacher of home economics for many area schools, retiring in 1980.

Tish was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville, where she had been active in the church choir. She was a former 4-H member, advisor and judge at the Wayne and Stark county fairs and was the first Wayne County Junior Fair Queen. Tish enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and especially her family.

Tish is survived by a daughter, Laurel (Larry) Strasbaugh of Dalton; step-son, David (Leslie) Moore of Rockford, Illinois; step-daughters, Carol Chieda and Bonnie (Sherwood) Coleman, both of Loudonville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty Auble of Wooster.

In addition to her husband, Tish was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tim Auble; and step-son, Michael Moore.

Services will be held at Christ United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main St., Orrville, on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dana Keirstead officiating.

Friends may call at the church from 3-4 p.m. prior to the services on Sunday. Auble Funeral Home in Orrville is assisting the family with arrangements. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at the funeral home's website at www.aublefuneralhome.com.
