Mary Ellen Martin

                        

Mary Ellen Martin, age 80 of Orrville, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, Indiana.

Mary Ellen was born May 5, 1938, in Berlin to the late Ray and Erma (Gardner) Mast and graduated as valedictorian of her class at Berlin High School in 1956. She married P. Wesley Martin on Aug. 11, 1956, at Martins Creek Mennonite Church in Millersburg. Wes survives.

Mary Ellen served as a teaching leader and area advisor for Bible Study Fellowship International for many years. She was a member of Grace Church in Wooster. She was a devoted follower of Christ and impacted many with her faith throughout her life.

Mary Ellen was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, sewing, and baking pies and cinnamon rolls. She was an avid sports fan and followed the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers. She and Wes enjoyed winters in Sarasota the last few years. She had a special way of connecting with everyone and loved talking to people. She was faithfully devoted to her family and especially her husband, for whom she cared since his stroke seven years ago.

Surviving are four daughters, Sue (Rick) Kreakie of Orrville, Jan Good of Winamac, Indiana, Barb (James) Moline of Smithville and Kristen (Mark) Zook of Orrville; 11 grandchildren, Liz (Mike) Robinson, Nic (Cathy) Kreakie, Lara (Nathan) Speitel, Kelly (Aaron) Hines, Kevin (Alyssa) Good, Lisa (Drew) Phillips, Meredith (Gabe) Holder, David (Erin) Moline, Kyle (Tara) Zook, Joel (Jera) Zook and Allison Zook; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Martin of Goshen, Indiana and Ruth Ann (Jim) Oswald of Orrville; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Brianna; her brother, Richard Mast; and her brother-in-law, Ralph Martin.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Grace Church in Wooster, 4599 Burbank Road, Wooster, with Pastor Bob Fetterhoff officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the Crown Hill Cemetery Chapel in Orrville.

Friends may call on Friday at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville, from 5-8 p.m.
