Mary Jane Aeschliman

                        

Mary Jane (Souers) Aeschliman, age 87 of Venice, Florida and formerly of Dover, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, in the Brookdale on Venice Island, following complications from Alzheimer's disease.

Mary Jane was a teller for the former National Bank in Dover. She later joined her husband in the operation of P&J Cable Burial Company and Aeschliman Excavating Company, both in Dover.

Born Sept. 4, 1931, in Dover, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Louis D. and Clara (Riley) Souers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul E. “Bud” Aeschliman, on Sept. 9, 2016. Paul and Mary were married on May 9, 1954, in the former South Moravian Church at Dover by the late Rev. Roy Grams. She also was preceded by her brother Robert (Helen) Souers.

Mary Jane was a very active member of the South Moravian Church, where she was the pianist, a Sunday school teacher and financial secretary. She was a 1949 graduate of Dover High School and an accomplished musician who proudly played in the Dover Marching Tornadoes Band under the direction of the late L.H. Alexander.

Mary Jane is survived by her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mary Jane has been cremated, and Rev. John Wallace will officiate her graveside service on Saturday, Dec. 8, beginning at 1 p.m. in the Dover Burial Park.
