Robert J. Meyer
Robert J. Meyer, age 79 of Dover, died Jan. 12, 2019, in Park Village Healthcare Center at Dover.
Born in New Philadelphia on July 4, 1939, Bob was the son of the late Carl and Mary (Stringer) Meyer.
After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1958, Bob worked at the Union 76 Station K C Car Care. He will long be remembered as having loved to be outside mowing his yard and tending to his property.
Bob is survived by his children, Julie (Gary Spahr) Meyer of Dover, Marsha (Todd) Tacy of Mineral City and Bobby (Mary) Meyer of Somerdale; his grandchildren, Tim (Debbie) Isaacs, Tyler Isaacs, Toria Cope and Todd Tacy; his great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Eddie Isaacs; his step-grandchildren, Chris, Beth, Nathan, Katie and their children; his sisters, Carolyn Rennicker and Sherry (Wayne) Heter, both of New Philadelphia; his aunt, Janet (John) Goodwin; two special cousins, Mike and Paula Robinson and Kathleen and Chuck Ferrari; his former wife, Marlene Locker Meyer of New Philadelphia; his dog, Dixie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Arney and Marilyn Miller, and his step-grandson, Matthew Morris.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 5-8 p.m. A service celebrating Bob’s life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in New Cumberland Cemetery.
