Stella Mae Stutler

                        

Stella Mae Stutler, age 73 of Tuscarawas, died on Jan. 8, 2019, in Union Hospital at Dover, following a recent illness.

A daughter of the late Henry Earl and June (Tompkins) Roach, Stella was born Dec. 25, 1945, in New Philadelphia.

Stella graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1964. Then on Dec. 31, 1965, she married the love of her life, William Keith Stutler, and together the couple raised two children, Bill and Angel.

Stella was an active member of LifeWay Church at New Philadelphia and was even more active with the church food pantry. Along with her husband, Bill, Stella volunteered countless hours overseeing the food pantry to see that others were cared for. In her spare time she could often be found relaxing in her swing on the back porch. Most of all she cherished her grandchildren and supporting them in their various activities and events.

Stella is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Stutler; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Melinda Stutler of New Philadelphia; a daughter and son-in-law, Angel and Scott Pennington of Bolivar; her grandchildren, Ashton (Zane) Cunningham, Tyler and Carter Stutler, Mikala (Nick) Harding, Cole (Kali) Myers, and Zac, Amber, Riley and William Pennington; her great-grandchildren, Natalee, Jenson and Jackson Cunningham, Hudson and Grayson Harding, and Brooke and Payton Myers; two sisters, Wendy (Jim) Ford and Hallie (Ashley Bixler) White, both of New Philadelphia; a niece, Heather (Mike) Denham; and a nephew, Jay (Sharon Carico) Ford.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Casey White.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10 from 5-8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Stella’s life will be held on Friday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. in LifeWay Church at New Philadelphia with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the church.
