Community Hospice held its 17th annual Culinary Capers event at Rustic Ridge Wedding Barn on Saturday, April 23. The volunteer committee of Lindsay Tidrick, Kelly Rager, Katie Wright, Tiffany Dumermuth and Denise Petitt spent months organizing and planning the event.

The highlight of the event was the food prepared by local culinary experts. Participating restaurants included Texas Roadhouse, Park Street Pizza, Log Cabin Catering, The Dennison Yard, Sammy Sues BBQ, Feelin’ Froggie, Hog Heaven, Union Country Club, Hennis Care Center, and longtime supporters Ross Mountain BBQ and The Shamp family.

The evening also included both a silent and live auction facilitated by Steve Cronebaugh, who donated his services. Among the auction items were a “Be My Guest” dinner donated by Cameron Krahel, the opportunity to name the front porch of The Truman House for one year, two cottages in Key West given by Peter Wagner in memory of his grandparents Margaret and Sam Reeves, golf packages, and a Cleveland sports package.

Culinary Capers is a fundraiser that generates financial resources for the work of Community Hospice. Fundraisers are an important element in the work of Community Hospice as it allows the organization to serve patients and families regardless of their ability to pay.

The event raised just over $102,000.
