The new year brings new classes and exhibits to Wayne Center for the Arts. On Jan. 18 “The Golden Ratio: Celebrating 50 Years of Creativity” opened, showcasing 23 artists whose works span a variety of different mediums from ceramics, digital art, quilts and more. The exhibit is part of WCA’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration.

Dr. Janice Gallagher is one of the artists featured in the exhibit. “My family and I have been involved with Wayne Center for the Arts since we moved to Wooster in 1973,” she said. “My participation in the ‘Golden Ratio’ show pushed me to think about how to meet the criteria of the show using my style of creating art. The challenge was inspiring, and I burned many hours in thought and in completion of the art.”

Gallagher’s work and the work of many others is on view in the Gault Gallery at Wayne Center for the Arts until Feb. 3.

WCA also announced the commencement of its winter session of arts classes, which are underway. Catering to students of all ages, the range of classes includes both traditional offerings and workshops.
