Welch to open Voices From the Past's 32nd season

The Wayne County Historical Society will open the 32nd season of the Voices From the Past programs with a music performance by Helen Welch on Feb. 9.

                        

The Wayne County Historical Society will open the 32nd season of the Voices From the Past programs with a music performance by Helen Welch in the one-room schoolhouse on the society grounds at 546 E. Bowman St. in Wooster.

Welch will bring her show titled “A Little Brit Different” to the historical society on Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. Accompanied by musicians Joe Leaman on piano and Aiden Plank on bass, Welch will treat the audience to a selection of songs from Broadway, the American Songbook, and popular hits and material from various shows.

Welch has headlined with ensembles such as the Blossom Festival Orchestra, the Grant Park Symphony and the Florida Symphony. She also has produced and starred in her own productions including “Superstar: The Songs, The Stories, The Carpenters” (recently performed at Severance Hall), “The First Ladies of Song,” and “Come Together: The Beatles Reimagined.”

Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased at the Wayne County Historical Society Tuesday through Friday from 1-5 p.m. or by calling the society at 330-264-8856. Tickets also are available at Murr Printing, 201 N. Buckeye St., Wooster, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
