The Indian Valley FFA completed their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Every year the FFA chapter collects food at the high school and makes baskets to distribute to families within the Indian Valley School District. The donated food was delivered by FFA members on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 22. The FFA chapter set a goal of collecting 5,000 pounds this year, and they made their goal. The students donated a total of 8,286 pounds. At the beginning of the food drive students had planned on helping 65 families, but with the increase 85 families were helped. The food drive is set up like a competition based on weight between homerooms. Many of the teachers offer incentive to keep the students involved and the competition challenging. The FFA chapter wishes to thank all the students and staff that made this record-breaking food drive possible. The Indian Valley FFA chapter is putting the true meaning behind FFA and living by the motto: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.
