Award-winning Kidron artist hosting art show, sale
On Sept. 24 and 25 from 1-5 p.m., local artist Dennis Lipp will host a show to display his work at the Heritage Green Condos Clubhouse in Kidron.

On Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1-5 p.m., Dennis Lipp will host a show to display his work at the Heritage Green Condos Clubhouse in Kidron.
Lipp’s range of work includes landscapes, wildlife, editorial and Christian inspirational art for his company, Peace Like a River-Fine Art.
“With his technique of bright colors and bold imagery, along with his analytical conceptualizing, his illustrations, paintings and murals have appeared in numerous publications, galleries, and on the walls of businesses, churches and residential homes,” according to his website at www.peacelikeariver-fineart.com.
Lipp’s recent awards include the Best of Show, People’s Choice in a 2022 Wayne Center for the Arts contest for “Revelation: Fury and Majesty,” a piece that took him 16 years to complete. Lipp also was awarded second place for “Return of the Prodigal Son” in 2019 and honorable mention in the 2022 International Juried Art Competition for “Cautious Descent.”
One of his pieces was chosen by the Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District to represent Wayne County and was on display at the Division of Soil and Water Conservation in Columbus. His artwork also was selected three separate years to be part of the “Embracing Our Differences” traveling billboard display sponsored by Ohio State University ATI of Wooster.
Lipp’s work also appears in New Jersey and Pennsylvania while Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park in Jackson, New Jersey commissioned him to paint a mural that measures 35 feet in length.
He also painted his version of “The Garden of Eden” in a private residence in the Pocono Mountain region of Pennsylvania that measured 25 feet in length, and Lipp’s work has been exhibited in Colorado, Texas and numerous locations in New Jersey.
Besides massive murals, he’s also done paintings on furniture, hand saws, shoes and other mediums.
Drawing since he was 7 and oil painting at age 11, Lipp has been at it for 55 years. He was born in New York City and was raised in the Central New Jersey area. He received his formal art training in illustration at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art in 1981. In 2001 he and his wife, Lisa, moved to Ohio to get away from all the traffic and congestion.
“If I can get out of the way, I want to try to bring attention and glory to God and his Son through his creation and through Jesus’ life,” Lipp said, citing the inspiration behind his work.
Lipp will talk both days from 2-2:30 p.m. at the clubhouse, a half-mile south of Central Christian High School. Enter on the left off Kidron Road, stay to the right and the first building on the left is the clubhouse. Parking is limited in front but available on the street, and buggies can park at Evergreen Park. Original paintings and prints will be for sale.
“I would be honored to have the Amish and Mennonite community come out as well as those from all around the community to see the work and ask as many questions as they would like,” Lipp said.
