Bright Life Players will present their fall show, “Radio Daze,” Oct. 21-22 and 28-29 at the First Church of God, 1953 Akron Road, Wooster.

It’s the 1940s, and Americans are doing all they can to help the war effort, especially keeping a sharp eye out for spies. And what better place for a spy to lurk than a radio station? “Radio Daze” is packed with overheard rumors, mixed-up scripts, leaked “secret information,” romance and more.

This is the second time Bright Life Players has produced the play.

“Bright Life Players had such success with ‘Radio Daze’ in 2018 that the board decided today’s audience would love it too,” said Maggie Leatherman, the play’s director.

The cast of 27 has first-time performers and seasoned actors who have been with Bright Life Players since the group was formed in 2016. Sweet Spirit, a local women’s quartet, will sing some familiar ‘40s songs during the show.

Proceeds from “Radio Daze” will be donated to Rise FM Christian Radio station. Since the inception of Bright Life Players, every show has had a designated charity that receives a donation from the show. Bright Life Players has produced 13 plays since 2016.

Show times will be 7 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 28 and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 29, with doors opening 30 minutes prior to the show. Adult tickets are $11, youth tickets for age 12 and under are $8, and a family four-pack is $32. All seating is general seating with no reserved seating. Concessions will be available at intermission, with proceeds going to the First Church of God.
