Summer will be in full swing on Saturday, June 16 as the Dominic Greco Band performs its third concert of the season. As part of the RTY Summer Showcase Concert Series, the Greco Band will play at New Philadelphia’s Tuscora Park Amphitheater at 7 p.m. The concert will be under the direction of Claymont graduate and current Union Local band director April Linard.

“Continuing our tradition of concerts in the park, we will focus on summer. Our June concert features some classic concert band repertoire that is not only fun to listen to but fun to perform,” Linard said.

Musical selections that Linard choose for the concert include “As Summer Was Just Beginning,” featuring the French horn section, and “Variations on a Kitchen Sink,” which highlights the multi-talented percussion section. In addition to other seasonal favorites, the Dominic Greco Band vocalist and audience favorite, Ron Barkett, will perform “As Time Goes By.”

“Featuring pieces like ‘As Summer Was Just Beginning,’ Broadway marches, ‘Tuscora Celebration,’ a little jazz and a unique percussion feature, this concert is sure to entertain,” Linard said.
