Ohio Theatre to host movie and comedy event April 10
The “Church People” movie and comedy event will take place at The Ohio Theatre in Loudonville on Thursday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature Christian comedian/actor Thor Ramsey and filmmaker, director and Coshocton native Christopher Shawn Shaw.
Sponsored in part by New Hope Community Church, the evening will begin as Ramsey takes the stage for some stand-up comedy. Ramsey has been a stand-up comedian for over three decades and was featured in three “Thou Shalt Laugh” movies, which sold over half a million DVDs and were broadcast on Netflix and cable television.
Aside from his own television series, “Comedy at Large with Thor Ramsey,” which aired for one season on the i-Life Network, he hosted the nationally syndicated comedy series, “Bananas.” This family-friendly comedy series ran for four seasons and was broadcast in over 90 million homes.
The event will continue with a screening of the movie “Church People,” written and starred in by Ramsey.
After the movie there will be a time of Q-and-A with Ramsey and Shaw. Originally from Coshocton County, Shaw is a multi-award-winning filmmaker and owner of Anchor Productions. He helmed the comedy film “Church People,” which made the Movieguide top 10 faith-based comedies list. Along with Ramsey, the movie included Erin Cahill, Stephen Baldwin, Donald Faison, William Baldwin, Chynna Phillips, Joey Fatone and Michael Monks.
