Orrville Community Theater to stage ‘Inn-Cognito’
The Orrville Community Theater will present “Inn-Cognito,” a mystery that will be staged April 8-10 at Christ United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main St., Orrville.
Orrville Community Theater will present “Inn-Cognito,” a mystery by Craig Sodaro, April 8-9 at 7 p.m. and April 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Christ United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main St., Orrville.
The show is directed by Chelsea Alleman.
Hollie Berry (Tara Roberts) and her kids (Kayla Seiler, Kendra Taylor-Alleman, Riley Grassman and Wyatt Seiler) are opening up an old resort hotel they recently inherited, and it seems like it’s going to be a roaring success. But a diamond bracelet belonging to the countess suddenly goes missing.
When someone suggests it was swiped by a ghost, the Partridge sisters confess they’re not birdwatchers, but ghost hunters trying to gather footage for a reality show they want to sell. According to them, the ghost of a mobster, Rat Face Louie, has haunted the hotel since he was gunned down there. Imagine everyone’s surprise when the very next guest is a classic gangster-looking man. In this spirited comedy, Hollie and her kids quickly learn nobody at their hotel is who they say they are. In fact, you could say they’re all traveling “Inn-Cognito.”
Tickets range in price from $9-$32 and are available at www.orrvillecommunitytheater.org, on EventBrite and at the door until sold out.
Orrville Community Theater is a nonprofit organization that regularly presents shows in the Orrville area — murder mysteries, Christmas shows, children’s workshops, teen workshops and more — with a goal to keep live theater alive.
When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the United States, OCT lost its biggest financial support as it was unable to put on shows or hold classes. The group had to give up its building space and sell off some of its prop inventory while the rest went into storage.
Orrville Community Theater can always use cast and crew members for the shows and has other nonstage volunteer positions such as helping with concessions, baking goodies for concessions, greeting people as they come into the theater at the ticket table and more.
