The Tuscarawas Philharmonic welcomes back Franc D’Ambrosio for his musical memoir, “Christmas in New York.”

On stage at the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center, the reprise performance of last year’s holiday hit will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 15 and will feature the Philharmonic’s adult and children’s choruses.

Fresh from an appearance at Carnegie Hall, where D’Ambrosio performed with The Four Phantoms, he is best known for his portrayal of the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning musical, “The Phantom of the Opera.”

His resume also includes an Academy Award-nominated film, an Emmy Award-nominated television show, a four-time Tony-nominated Broadway show, two Grammy considerations and a National Theatre Award nomination.

Since leaving Broadway, D’Ambrosio has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe and South America with his critically acclaimed one-man shows, and in 2011 he debuted a new show, “Christmas in New York.”

Philharmonic conductor Eric Benjamin collaborated with D’Ambrosio to orchestrate the holiday show, and the work was first performed by the Philharmonic in 2017.

“So successful was the premiere that we immediately decided to repeat it,” Benjamin said. “Our combined efforts will provide, I hope, the experience of hearing this beloved music with some of the wonder of hearing it as though for the first time.”

Tickets are still available at www.TuscarawasPhilharmonic.org or by calling the Performing Arts Center box office at 330-308-6400. Tickets range from $24-$36 with student and senior discounts available.
