The Tuscarawas Philharmonic is ready to begin the 2018 Children’s Chorus under the direction of Laura Barkett. Carolyn Wallace will accompany.

The chorus will rehearse weekly September through April with rehearsals every Monday from 5:45-6:45 p.m. at the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.

A parent information meeting and first rehearsal will be held Monday, Aug. 27 from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Children age 7-14 are invited to join with no prior registration required. This rehearsal will include a musical assessment and evaluation for each participant, but students will not need to prepare anything in advance.

There is a $30 registration fee for the fall semester with need-based scholarships available.

Concerts for the fall semester will include the Warther’s Christmas Tree Festival on Nov. 12, the Sugarcreek Arts Council Banquet on Dec. 3, the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Children’s Chorus in Concert on Dec. 9 and the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Yuletide Concert on Dec. 15.

The spring semester for the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Children’s Chorus will begin in January, and new participants may opt in at that time. Spring rehearsal and concert calendar will be announced later in the year.

The Tuscarawas Philharmonic Children’s Chorus sponsors include Barbour Publishing Inc., Dover Chemical Corporation, Park Village Assisted Living, Progressive Foam and ProVia.
