Todd T. Taylor will entertain at Tuscora Park’s amphitheater Sunday, June 15 from 7-9 p.m. with his oldies tribute concert, which includes doo-wop and other oldies.

“I only sing million-selling oldies hits from the 1940s to current music and songs that most grew up with,” Taylor said. “I like to sing to sit-down crowds and at concerts. I have every original music track in my possession. At Tuscora Park I will be singing 54 songs during the show.”

Taylor, 81, whose birth name is Carmen P. Civiello Jr., was born in Uhrichsville and graduated from Dennison St. Mary’s High School in 1961. He is the son of the late Carmen Sr. and Nellie Civiello.

Following graduation he traveled to Chicago to attend Midwestern Broadcasting. His first radio job was a sports director in Minnesota. He became a music master and a programmer for variety of radio stations. He has worked in many places; however, he returned to Ohio and became one of the top disc jockeys at WHLO-Akron, WAKR-Akron, WHBC and WINW in Canton, WCOL in Columbus, and many other stations in the U.S.

Triple T, as he if often called, appears in over 127 shows a year and participates in at least 30 parades a year.

Taylor also promotes the Red White and Blue Tribute and ends the show with “God Bless the USA.”

He was a world-class programmer and received many Gold Records for his ability to pick hits before they were top hits. For the past 17 years, he has been singing all the hits he once played on his radio and television shows. During his career Taylor has performed more than 2,900 different oldies and has made several CDs, which half of the proceeds from the CDs are donated to St. Jude’s Hospital.

“In my shows I can imitate a singer word for word, note for note, and sound like them. During the show I give a musical history of all the songs,” he said.

Taylor was the Voice of St. Jude for Leukemia Stricken Children for many years, teaming up with Danny and Marlo Thomas. Later he was on various radio stations with Marlo Thomas in different major cities in the U.S. They held radiothons, raising millions of dollars for St. Jude.
