"The Kid" — (PG)
DM: Bruce Willis stars as a work-aholic who meets up with himself — as an 8-year-old boy — through some strange quirk of fate.
He then has the chance to change the events which have formed his life and made him the hardened man that he is.
Honestly, I remember finding myself laughing and even near tears throughout this Disney offering, but several hours after it was over, I couldn't for the life of me remember why.
Willis, for some strange reason, has become one of my favorite actors, and he easily portrays a hard-driving, egotistical boss who has no time for fun.
Spencer Breslin is solid as his 8-year-old lisping, overweight and insecure version, and the two play well off each other.
I don't have any complaints about the movie, it's just that it is entirely forgettable. I'm sorry, that's all I have to offer. Good plot, good acting, good cast: forgettable flick.
I do remember thinking to myself that this, like all Disney movies, has a very predictable ending.
I also talked to a number of kids and parents who really enjoyed the film.
Apparently, despite the fact that their is little to remember once you leave the theater, Disney's "The Kid" is worth seeing.
Score: DM 62
