End of an era............Beginning of a family
At least one weekend a month, my husband and I get together with the same group of good friends.Whether we're bowling or canoeing, playing cards or corn hole, cheering on the Buckeyes or just hanging out around a campfire, we always have a lot of laughs and interesting conversations.
This past weekend, the dynamic of our group changed. Our friends, the Martins, welcomed the arrival of their first child, Cullen Thomas. They are the first ones in the group to become parents and we're all incredibly happy and excited for them.
It is officially the end of an era. There will likely be fewer late night campfires and trips to the bowling alley. Our get-togethers might now include playpens and burp-cloths. We may not see the Martin family as frequently, as they'll have bed times and feeding schedules to adhere to.
It is also the beginning of a new era. We all look forward to watching Cullen grow up and to hearing the hilarious stories that go hand-in-hand with parenthood. (And the Martins are great storytellers!)
So on behalf of "Uncle Gary" and "Auntie Jen", I'd like to say congratulations to the Martins and welcome to the group, little Cullen!
