Andreas makes positive contribution to the environment
Andreas of Sugarcreek has made a substantial change to its furniture gallery - a change that will ultimately make a significant impact on the community. Recently, Andreas made the decision to switch their lighting from halogen fixtures to LED, or light emitting diode, fixtures. In addition, 99 metal halide fixtures were swapped out for high-efficiency fluorescent lights at their 100,000-square-foot warehouse.
While the change may go unnoticed by many customers, it will positively impact the environment and the Sugarcreek community. The switch will eliminate more than 526,000 pounds of annual carbon dioxide emissions and more than 2,000 pounds of annual sulfur dioxide emissions. The change also means that the burning of 111 tons of coal annually will be avoided. These numbers equate to adding 67 acres of forest or removing 46 cars from the road.
Projects such as the lighting update at Andreas ultimately lessen the need to build more power plants and prove to be more cost-efficient in the long term.
This change is ultimately an update that will improve our community and our environment, said Nathan Andreas. Were so fortunate to be in such a beautiful area of the state, and were dedicated to keeping it a beautiful, safe and healthy place to live.
