The competition gives evaluation to every wine entered and celebrates high-quality wines of all styles from all regions of the world.

                        

The Pacific Rim International Wine Competition was founded in 1985 by a group of winemakers, vintners and educators.

The competition is held at the historic National Orange Show Fairgrounds in San Bernardino, California for two days in every April.

The competition gives evaluation to every wine entered and celebrates high-quality wines of all styles from all regions of the world.

The panel of judges represents all aspects of the wine industry including master sommeliers, award-winning winemakers, distributors, educators and restaurateurs.

Breitenbach Plum of Breitenbach Wine Cellars in Dover won Best in Class Fruit Wine. Breitenbach makes 15 fruit and berry wines.

Frost Fire is a sweet blend of American variety grapes and won a gold medal. A gold medal is reserved for a wine exhibiting perfect varietal character, balance and structure and containing exceptional qualities and complexities.

Roadhouse Red, another signature wine at the winery, is a blend of estate-grown grapes at Breitenbach Vineyards. Roadhouse Red earned a silver medal at the competition.

Breitenbach Wine Cellars produces several premium dry reds. Cabernet Sauvignon, a hearty fruit forward dry red, won a silver medal. Merlot, a smooth dry red with notes of dark fruit flavors and undertones of vanilla, won a bronze medal.
