Workers on the inside of Charm Engine continue to move toward the expansion’s finale. The addition to the showroom will allow them to display many more models of equipment.

While the outside of Charm Engine may look very different and is currently under construction, the Charm business continues to offer the same quality and selection it has always provided for the community. Everything is expected to be ready for the April 5 anniversary sale celebration.

As travelers pass through the Charm, Ohio area, one of the mainstay businesses of the Charm area looks a bit in disarray at the moment.

But not to fear, Charm Engine is simply undergoing a face lift, and the expansion process includes some renovations that will make the businesses more accessible and allow them to showcase even more of their products in the near future.

Charm Engine began adding to its ever-expanding store in October of 2017, right around Charm Days, which means this major undertaking is approaching six months. But while workers scurry around the premises like ants on an anthill, customers are still able to stop in for sales and service.

A & R Builders have taken on the bulk of the expansion project, and things are progressing smoothly toward meeting the deadline for Charm Engine to be fully functional before they host an anniversary sale April 5-7. They fully expect to be ready to roll with all of the new renovations done by then, and the showroom will be fully stocked beyond anything they could have done before the expansion process first began.

“We were completely full as far as space goes, and we didn’t have enough room to show all of our products, so we decided it was time to expand to provide even more customer service,” Paul Shetler said.

The newest addition among several additions to the store is a 54-foot-by-190-foot addition that will include expanding the showroom, a new workshop, a new welding area and a wash bay.

In addition the parking lot will be expanded, something Paul Shetler said was needed because parking has been an issue. While many things may look new and different, Charm Engine will continue to provide the same quality service and products it has become so well known for.

“We hope that everyone can come in and check it out for our anniversary,” Paul Shetler said.

Paul Shetler’s two sons Robert and Myron and son-in-law Kenny Keim are now managing the company, and they are excited about the direction the company is moving as it continues to serve the community.

While workers move in and out during renovations, the store remains open, and customers can continue to get the great service they have come to rely upon.

“We have great customers, and this was something we felt was necessary to better serve them,” Robert Shetler said. “That continues to be the main focus of everything we do. We have a wonderful group of employees who make sure that doesn’t change.”
