In the middle of an area becoming known as America’s Furniture Heartland, Homestead Furniture has opened a design center that combines interior and furniture design services with high-quality American-made furniture. The grand opening runs from March 15 to March 31. The Original Design Gallery gives customers the ability to get a look uniquely theirs using heirloom quality furniture. The gallery uses legendary American furniture brands such as Norwalk, Harden and Classic Leather, as well as original Homestead designs and locally crafted hardwoods. Customers can select styles, fabrics and finishes from an extensive selection, or work with professional hardwood furniture designers to get exactly the look they want. As part of the Grand Opening, Homestead is giving away a free Norwalk chair and ottoman in the winner’s choice of fabrics and styles. Customers can register at the store in Mt. Hope. According to Todd Reese, general manager, “I’m not aware of another furniture store combining professional design services and top-quality American brands with the ability to custom design furniture and have it built and delivered quickly.” The new Original Design Gallery occupies a 3,000 square-foot space on the second floor of the Homestead Furniture store in Mt. Hope, in Holmes County. It includes an extensive gallery of furniture for living, dining, family and bedrooms, as well as business offices and special spaces. For almost 20 years, Homestead Furniture has been custom designing hardwood furniture and offering locally crafted furniture in Mt. Hope. As the company grew they added upholstered furniture from well-known, but hard-to-find American manufacturers such as Harden and Classic Leather. In 2009, they added interior design services and signed a deal to bring Norwalk furniture to the area. Homestead is also a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council and is dedicated to promoting green furniture manufacturing processes. Store hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, stop by the store on SR 241, or telephone 866-674-4902.
