Kauffman becomes vice president of operations and executive director for Walnut Hills Retirement Community
Walnut Hills Retirement Community will have a new campus executive, beginning July 1.The Walnut Hills Board of Directors and Greencroft Communities have announced that Jeremy Kauffman will fill the position of vice president of operations and executive director for Walnut Hills, upon the transition of David Miller, the current president.
Kauffman will be only the third executive in Walnut Hills’ 39-year history. His qualifications include serving seven years as nursing home administrator and as the primary leader in learning about and implementing culture change into programs and facilities on the Walnut Hills campus.
“We look forward to seeing Jeremy grow and evolve as a leader in his new role,” said Bill Mullet, chairman of the Walnut Hills board. “The challenges that are ahead for this ministry will require all of us working together to make Walnut Hills a great place to live and work.”
Kauffman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Goshen College. Prior to joining Walnut Hills in 2002, he worked at Greencroft Goshen, where he began working in the maintenance department and eventually became the health care administrator.
Kauffman is active with the Ohio Person-Centered Care Coalition, which promotes person-centered care principles at long-term care facilities throughout Ohio. He has also served on church and community leadership teams, including as co-coordinator of the Walnut Creek Community Center and Library project and as a Holmes County Chamber of Commerce board member.
He and his wife, Christy, are the parents of Madeline, Seth, and Sophia. They reside in Walnut Creek.

After a 28-year tenure at Walnut Hills, Miller will be the Northeast Ohio advisor for the Mennonite Foundation, starting in September. He will have an office in Kidron.
Walnut Hills Retirement Community is a not-for-profit organization and is an affiliate of Greencroft Communities of Goshen, Ind. Walnut Hills employs 190 associates and is home to 250 residents.
