Local parlor scoops up new ice cream company

                        
Cindy’s Diner, in Berlin, is introducing a new ice cream brand to the neighborhood: Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream, a rich, old-fashioned ice cream parlor ice cream. Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream, based in Shelby Township, Mich., has been recognized on numerous occasions by its peers at the National Ice Cream Retailers Association with awards for its quality and innovative flavors. Amaretto Cherry, Raspberry Chip Cheesecake, Mt. Blackberry, Ultimate Peanut Butter Brownie, Magic Cookie, and Pineapple Upside Down Cake are six of its award winning flavors. In 2008, 2006, and 2005 Ashby’s Sterling was awarded a Blue Ribbon for chocolate ice cream at the World Dairy Expo. Six Gold Medals were awarded at the LA County Fair in 2005. More than 60 creamy, premium flavors are loaded with the “good stuff, such as buttery, roasted and salted pecan halves, chewy Mackinac Island Fudge, large black or maraschino cherries, and fresh-frozen strawberry halves. Everyone is sure to find a favorite among the flavors served at Cindy’s Diner.
